Managed Response, Inc. - Director of Loss Consulting

Mr. White has 25+ years of extensive experience in the fields of commercial, industrial, and residential construction/remediation and hazardous waste management with a strong work ethic, outstanding safety record, and the expertise to manage large and complex losses. Most recently he has developed strategy and prepared documentation regarding a $30 million federal lawsuit, developed and implemented the necessary documents to evaluate and support damage claims of over $150 million for multiple school districts, and prepared large loss documentation for insurance carriers. His background includes project management, repair scope development, cost estimating, project planning and coordination, crew supervision, and safety/code/OSHA compliance. He is accustomed to managing multiple responsibilities under fast-paced, high volume, time sensitive conditions and is able to resolve problems proactively. He also is able to thrive independently as well as in collaborative work environments and has experience in building and maintaining solid relationships with co-workers, clients, contractors, and management. Mr. White has exceptional investigative, analytical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Damage Assessment, Cost Estimating & Reconstruction: Mr. White specializes in defining post-loss damages and the best method of repair; documenting the damages in multiple insurance accepted formats, including Xactimate X1. Notable losses would include public school districts damaged by hurricanes and construction defect, historical buildings, high and mid-rise buildings, condominium and apartment complexes, and specialty facilities for manufacturing and agriculture.
Scope Analysis: Mr. White's evaluations between normal construction methods and proposed scopes of repair routinely saves his clients time and money while ensuring proper compliance with code, safety, and quality
. He is extremely skilled at eliminating extraneous expenses, often proposing alternate and more appropriate methods of construction.
Construction and Design Defect Analysis: Mr. White has helped legal teams evaluate and resolve design and construction defect claims for which causation and damage models were established for commercial buildings, condominiums, single family residences and apartments. Design and construction defects involving cast-in-place concrete, wood framing, structural steel, waterproofing, building systems, installed components and other issues have been identified, quantified, and resolved.

Scope Development for Insurance Claims: Mr. White's years of vast experience affords him the abilities to develop scopes of damage, in insurance format, to assure proper reconstruction of damaged structures.

Nine Hurricane Damaged Texas School Districts—Documentation of Loss & Scopes of Damage, Rio Grande Valley, Texas: In 2020, Hurricane Hanna damaged the Rio Grande Valley, and nine Texas public school districts sustained significant damage. MRI was retained by their law firm to document the loss and prepare a scope of damage. Mr White and his team assessed 155 campuses, as well as stadiums, performing arts centers, theaters, and auxiliary buildings for these districts, documenting over $150 million in damages.
Developed Strategy & Prepared Documentation Regarding a $30 Million Federal Lawsuit: Mr. White served as an expert and was instrumental in the positive resolution of this case, involving a 27 location portfolio of buildings damaged by hail. He worked with the client and attorneys from beginning to end; evaluating file documentation, performing a scope comparison to actual on-site damages, identifying interior and exterior damages, creating a scope of loss, preparing documentation, consulting through the mediation process, and testifying in court.

Forensic Investigation & Documentation for Complex High-Rise Rooftop Pool Construction Defect Suit: After Hurricane Harvey, MRI was retained to identify the cause of top-down internal water damage to a high rise building. Although it was believed that improper instillation of the roof-top pool was the cause, Mr. White's investigation revealed that construction defect of a separate area of the building was the cause.

Forensic Evaluation to Determine Appropriate Hurricane Reconstruction of Mid-Rise Building: Years after the satisfactory conclusion of hurricane damage repair, a lawsuit claimed that repairs were improper and incomplete. Mr. White's investigative skills were instrumental in confirming that the contractor indeed performed repairs according to the scope of damage and contract with their client. He researched the circumstances of the original loss, performed document and on-site inspections, and provided documentation to prove that the work was completed well and in accordance with the scope of repair.

Forensic Investigation & Loss Consultation of Slow-Motion Collapse of Mid-Rise Hotel: Mr. White and his team performed blueprint and on-site inspections to determine the cause of this hotel collapsing within its first floor gym. It was determined that a broken structural beam was cause, and replacement could save the structure. MRI first installed shoring to ensure life-safety and support the upper floors, then engineered the replacement of the beam.
